Great passing allowed the U 12 # 1 team to win the "B" championship July 27, downing Clinton 6-1 in the final game in a busy week of soccer.
In their first game July 23, the squad touted Blyth 6-1 , then continued the scoring barrage with a 8-0 romp over Goderich one night later.
On July 25, in their closest game of the playoffs, the green needed an exciting 4-3 win in a shootout to move on to the semi-final one night later, this time against Wingham.
In the final, against Clinton, this time St. Columban left no doubt who was the better team in a 6-1 victory , as Bobby McLachlan scored a hat trick in this game.
Great aggressive goaltending was turned in by Griffin St. Onge who really stepped up during this tournament to play net. Solid defensive play by everyone helped to alleviate the pressure off the goalie.
