West Niagara Invitational Soccer Tournament
Our first game / tournament of the season.
We had 12 players for the first 2 games and iron man'd the last game. The boys in attendance played 3 games in a 8 hour time span with only 1 spare in 2 games.  They played very well having been introduced to a differing style of play for their first time.

Nick Cripps was very solid in net making some dazzling saves on several occasions. Duncan Greidanus scored our only goal when placed at striker alongside Jesse Kemerink and Joshua Fehr. Mackenzie Berard, Daniel Chun played some very aggressive D improving throughout the day, Daniel with a little confidence would routinely make interceptions and turn the ball in the opposite direction. Luke Vogels provided extra size, by asking to switch from mid-fielder to D when the much more hands on aggressive  football style play was taking effect. Connor Driscoll played some very solid mid-fielder as always, and opposing teams routinely used 2-handed pushes from behind to knock him off the ball in the offensive zone. Andrew McCarthy developed some good chemistry with his mid-fielders adapting very well to the touch-touch pass style of play to create space and opportunity.  Sticking to his position and even having a couple shots on goal.   Which we did not have very many throughout the day.

Be proud of your team, several players have proven beyond a doubt that if they wish, they can play at the L5 level and beyond.

The organizers loved having us there, shaking there heads because here was a club from a town that didn't have a single intersection.

Great job boys!
