U9 Girls defeat Parkhill
On June 10, the U9 girls travelled to Parkhill and defeated the home team 5-1.  From the initial coin toss to the final whistle, the girls were energized!  The new celtic jerseys seemed to bring the girls together as a team, which helped them to dominate their opponent.

St.Columban was not long hitting the mesh in the opening minutes.  Ava was able to break free of her opponent, after receiving a pass from Victoria, and drove the ball into the corner of the net.  Minutes later, Ava once again, with the help of Lilly and Victoria was able to put St.Columban up by two.  The girls did not stop, and Campbell was not long notching the third goal on a breakaway.  With the fierce play of Kate and Emma, Campbell was able to captialize on her second goal, and put St.Columban up by four.  Sydney, Averi, and Sammy were able to team up and give St.Columban their fifth goal (Sydney's first), to end out the scoring.

Without the strong defensive play of Stephanie, Natalia, Sammy, Carly, Davita, and Lilly the outcome would be different.  These girls were able to control the play in our end, and move our team up the field.

Kora and Alexa shared goalie duties and were able to stop everything that Parkhill could give (except one). They were St.Columban's "WALL" to a great game.

        Great work girls!
