u9 Girls Do Well in Year end Tourney.
On Saturday, August 8, the u9 girls played in Grand Bend in their year end tournament.   Their first game put them against Parkhill.  These two teams were well matched this season, which made for an exciting game.

St.Columban opened the scoring not long after the game began, and never looked back.  The girls dominated the game throughout.  Goals were notched by Ava, Averi, and Victoria.  Goaltending was very solid by Davita and Victoria.  Final score was 3-1 for St.Columban.
For game #2 St.Columban was paired against Exeter #1 team.  This game was fast from the start, and the girls knew they could not let their guard down.  St.Columban was able to score first, which weakened Exeter's spirits.  The girls kept fighting and were able to put three more on the scoresheet.  Goals were scored by Stephanie, Natalia, Lilly, and Ava.  Goalies Victoria and Davita played outstanding! Final score 4-0 for St.Columban.
Game #3 brought the girls back to play Parkhill again.  This game was tough.  Parkhill was wound, and did not want to lose again.  The girls played awesome, passing was great, and shots were hard!  Goaltending at each end kept the game interesting.  At halftime the score was even at 1-1.  The second half was an absolute treat to watch.  Both teams fighting for a goal created a great atmosphere.  St.Columban had many chances, but it was Parkhill who scored during the final minute, that decided the outcome.  Goaltending by Davita and Alexa was superb. St.Columban's goal was by Sydney.   The final score was 2-1 for Parkhill.

This year's U9 team consisted of Ava, Stephanie, Emma, Alexa, Natalia, Averi, Sammy, Campbell, Kate, Lilly, Davita, Sydney, Victoria, Carly, and Kora.  These girls played their hearts out all year, and became great teammates as the season developed.  Great work girls!
