St.Columban wins Battle of Unbeatens
The U9 boys improved their record to seven wins and zero loses with a 6-1 win over previously unbeaten Clinton in NHSL action on Tuesday night. The crowd was treated to a great contest that had action from end to end all night.

St.Columban had a chance to open the scoring at the 10 minute mark when they were awarded a penalty shot after a hand ball. Unfortunately they couldn't convert the chance, just missing the post. Clinton stormed down 5 minutes later and scored after a scramble infront of the St.Columban net. Celebrations didn't last too long though as Jackson D took the ball down the right side after the ensuing kick off. A high shot from far out beat the Clinton keeper to tie the game. St.Columban keeper Preston H played incredible making a number of key saves to keep the locals in the game. Before the half Noah C put St.Columban ahead and it was 2-1 at half.

The second half saw St.Columban's defense hold off the Clinton attack time and time again. Preston H was once again solid in goal. Jack N, Quinn W, Noah R, Jake C, were great on defense as they turned away attack after attack. It was however St.Columban's transition game that opened things up and provided 4 more goals in the half to seal the victory. Cole W, James M, Corbin L and Jackson D scored in the second frame.

All the boys played awesome and quickly closed down any space that Clinton had. The defensive responsibility of the midfield was something else.

Thanks to all the families for coming out to watch. It was a big game for the boys and we were glad you were there to see it. :)
