U11 Girls defeat Lucan
On Thursday August 10, the U11 girls hosted Lucan for their final game of the season. The girls were pumped, but the rain delayed the start. Finally the sun came out, and the game began. The girls had many chances, but could not hit the mesh.
The second half would be different, as the girls knew they had to capitalize to claim the league title. They pushed hard, and Hannah was able to drill a shot past Lucan's keeper, thanks to Chelsea and Keira's handy work. That goal stood as the winner, as St.Columban defeated Lucan 1-0. Another shut-out for St.Columban by Hannah and Campbell.
Our girls were able to capture first place in the league, with an unbelievable season. They worked extremely hard and deserved this title. They recorded 11 wins, 2 ties, and 0 losses. Congratulations girls!
