U13 Boys win A Championship
On July 28th, U13 St. Columban boys challenged Clinton for the “A” Championship game.  Facing the opponent that handed them their only loss of the season on Clinton's home pitch, the boys were pumped for the match.

The game got off to a slow start with the fans getting worried with a scoreless game for 25 minutes.  Finally almost 30 minutes into the game after several shots were made Nathan Earl took full advantage of a juicy rebound from the Clinton keeper and found the back of the net.  15 minutes later Earl would put it in again after a powerful throw in by Owen Taylor, ending the first half 2-0.

Kody O'Rourke made a nice goal after a strong St. Columban corner kick, assisted by Greg Reidy and Cole Melady.  Earl would find the net again for his third of the game.  With only 5 minutes left in the game Clinton would foil the shut out for net-minder Ben tenHag.  Not wanting to end the game on that note, O'Rourke sent a sweet 30+ yard kick sailing over the heads of all players straight to the back of Clinton's net.  With a final of 5-1 the U13 St. Columban boys clinched the “A” Championship title of the North Huron Soccer league.

The boys had a fantastic season, proving that communication, teamwork and a bit of fun are the keys to a successful season!  Huge thank you to the coaches Nick tenHag and Jeff Campbell for their time and dedication to the boys.
