U 18 girls Gold Medal Game
Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Seaforth the St. Columban U18 girls met Wingham for the NHSL gold medal game
Wingham has a solid team and finished first overall and would score first. Lexi T evened the score a short time later on a nice individual effort. Play was back and forth with good scoring chances at both ends, however, the score remained tied at one throughout regulation and 20 minutes extra time. After 5 penalty shots the score was knotted at 2 with Dani S contributing the goal for St. Columban. A miss by Wingham and a goal by Bre S on the 6th shot would clinch the goal medal for St. Columban. An outstanding effort by the entire team today, everyone including the call ups came to play and did their job. Thanks to Brianna Mc, Rachel V, and Sarah VB for helping out.
