U11 Girls Challenge Cup Tournament
July 22, 2017 - On a dismal Saturday, the Celtic girls travelled to South Huron's pitch for the leagues "Challenge Cup Tournament".

Game 1 - The girls met up against Taxandria, and from the start the two teams battled.  This Taxandria team, who recently lost to the girls, was focused on changing history.  With the ball going end to end, it was Ava R who stepped up and was able to materialize on a pass from Courtney, giving the Celtics the lead.  The game was loaded with close game changers by both teams, but it was the Celtics who held on for the 1-0 win.   Sarah, once again proved her skill in net, by capturing the shut-out.

Game 2 - South Huron #1 would match up to the Girls in game 2.  The girls knew they had to start strong in order to shut this talented team down.  Within the first few minutes, Abby put the girls on the score sheet.    Shortly afterwards, Ava R notched her first of the game, with the help of Ava V.  Pushing strong, Campbell was able to take control of the play and direct the ball to Abby, who hit the mesh for the second time.     After a half time break, the girls never stopped and Ava R completed her second goal of the match, with assists going to Ava V, and Kate M.    Never wanting to give South Huron a chance, Haylie with her "Canon" of a kick, scored from 20 yards out.  Finishing off the victory, was Lilly who marched the ball up the side, brought it across, and drilled it pass South Huron's keeper.  Keeper duties went to Sarah and Courtney. Thanks to Courtney's huge save with 5 minutes remaining, the girls held onto the shut-out.  Final score 6-0 for the Celtics.

Game 3 - For the final game, the girls faced Grand Bend.  The game was tough, and the ball was bouncing both ways.  Campbell, wanting to change it up, made a rush up the field and hit one home to place the girls up by one, assisted by Ava R.  With the game, still in anyone's grasp, Courtney took charge, and put the girls up by two, with the help of Kate M, and Ava R.   This would stay as the final score, with the Celtics winning 2-0.  Sarah, in net, who is no stranger to shut-out's gained another one.   The Celtics won the tourney,  and managed 3 shut-outs! Great work Girls!
