Close games for St. Columban U13 Girls
June 15 the girls travelled to Clinton, despite many attempts the first
half ended scoreless. After a sweet
corner kick from Sarah K., Chelsea V was able to find the back of the net pulling
St. Columban ahead 1-0. This would be
the final score for a tight played game.
Net minding duties were shared by Chelsea V. and Kate R.
June 20th travelled to Brussels for a wet, soggy game. Kate R. started in net with Chelsea V. also taking a turn. Arianna C. started the game with a goal but Brussels snuck one in just in time to end the first half 1-1. Sheana B. started the scoring in the second half to pull St. Columban back into the lead. A slippery ball shot by Brussels would tie the game up again. With Brussels scoring again to pull ahead for the first time in the game. Chelsea V. got one past the Brussels goalie just in time to tie it back up again. With many chances and the pressure on St. Columban just couldn’t pull ahead again leaving the final score tied 3-3.
June 29th Clinton #2 travelled to St. Columban. Call up from U11 Celtics Sarah S. did a fantastic job in net in this back and forth game against our rival Clinton team. Clinton scored 15 minutes into the game to pull ahead. Some great saves by Clinton and St. Columban goalies and strong defence kept this a tight-played game. This would be the lone goal of the game with a final score of 1-0 for Clinton #2.
