Girls win home field advantage for Semi-Finals
On August 3rd the U13 girls hosted Clinton 1 team.  They headed into this game in 2nd place in their division, a win would earn them home field advantage for the upcoming semi-final game.  The first half was intense with a back and forth game and no score.

After a pep talk at half-time from Coach Jason Dietz the girls came out to play an offensive game the second half.  They pushed the play to Clinton’s end and didn’t let up until they scored.  The defense kept the play pushed up and it proved to be the break they needed, off a pass from Meg S., Keira D kicked it hard and on the ground to open up the scoring.  The girls were pumped.  Within minutes the girls pushed hard and scored again.  Sarah K got the ball moving in the right direction and found Hannah N. open who sent one sailing to the back of the net. This would be the final goal of the game.  Both teams never gave up and played hard the entire game.  Shut-out credit goes to Kate R and Hannah N who both played strong in net.  Final score 2-0 for St. Columban and home field advantage.  Come cheer on St. Columban as they take on Lucknow in semi-final action on Thursday, August 10th at 7:00pm.
