A Great Season!
The St. Columban U10 boys Seaforth Royal Canadian Legion team participated in the WMYSL Challenge Cup this past weekend

The boys met on the field on Thursday night in Arkona to play against Kensal Park.  Gabe Terpstra played net the whole game and was outstanding. St. Columban scored first with a beauty pass through the goalie box from Bryce Dixon to Rogan Catalan.  Minutes later Kensal Park found the back of our net.  Heading into the second, St. Columban boys dominating the game in Kensal Park's end. Several shots and rebounds, Cohen Ahrens scored to give us lead.  Bryce Dixon tapped another one in to put us a head by 2 goals.   Strong defence were Ryan Glauser, Ethan Follett Joel & Luke Hogger & Arick Beuerman.

That evening we drew a bye for the first game on Saturday morning, which put us directly in the Semi Final game at 12:45 pm against, Lucan Defenders.  This was going to be a tough game against the top placed team in the league.  The boys played strong seemed to have several changes but the Lucan goalie was on his game. The game ended with no score, sending both teams into an intense shoot out. Trystan Leeman played net and was outstanding against the Lucan Defenders.  Penalty shooters for St. Columban were, Ethan Follett, Bryce Dixon, Cohen Ahrens, Joel Hogger and Rogan Catalan.  The St Columban Seaforth Royal Canadian Legion team won the shootout 4-3, to move to the finals.

The boys played Narin in the finals which was a hard fought battle. St. Columban was on the short end of a 2 nothing loss.  The goalie from Narin stood on his head to keep the ball out.  And Narin capitalized on some good bounces.  The boys fought through the hot temperatures and short bench to pull off a Second Place finish in the Challenge Cup.  WAY TO GO BOYS!!!

The boys finished with 10 wins, 3 ties and 2 losses.  Congratulations to all for a great season. Brody, Bryce, Ethan, Ryan, Trystan Cohen, Rogan, Gabe, Arick, Joel and Luca. Special thanks to Bud & Beth Schoonderwoerd for coaching the team this season. Thanks to the parents for their continued support of St. Columban Soccer and the time commitment it takes to have the kids participate.
