U11 Boys Win Gold Medal Game!!
On July 31st the St. Columban U11 Boys defeated Wingham 1-0 in a thrilling overtime match to claim the league title!

To earn a spot in the gold medal game the team had to first get past Clinton #1 on July 30.  The boys came ready to play and won the game 8-2.  Jack Nolan and Jack Van Loon each scored twice and goals were also scored by Emerson Gowan and Colin Smith.  Two call-ups for the game, Ethan Follet and Cohen Ahrens, also netted goals.
The next night, the team traveled to Goderich for the final against Wingham.  The two teams were closely matched all season and this game would be no exception.  There were plenty of chances in the game but no goals were scored in regulation.  Lucas Mahon was strong in net for St. Columban.
The game went into sudden death overtime and it didn't take long for St. Columban to end the game in dramatic fashion.  Jack Van Loon scored the "golden goal" to end the game and the boys celebrated their victory!
The whole team worked very hard all year and the championship was well-deserved.  Great season U11 boys!
