U18 - Girls, 2013 (St. Columban SC)

Friday July 12, 2013 St Columban's U 18 girls came up against Blyth for the gold medal. With no score throughout the game, and overtime, it came down to a shoot out.  Kourtney Ribey, Erika Schoonderwoerd, and Brooklyn Finlayson each scored for St. Columban and our keeper, Kate Flanagan stood tall in net only allowing one goal to give us the win 3-1 What a great playoff week. Thanks to coaches Joe Schoonderwoerd and Kim Finlayson for a great season.

Second game of the playoffs against Blyth In the first half, St. Columban's Brooklyn Finlaysongot one past the Blyth goaltender, and it wasn't until later in the second half that Blyth scored.  Ending in a tie put the game in overtime.  Less than one minute in Kailey Hill scored, giving the win to St. Columban. Tuesday July 9, 2013St. Columban U 18 girls played thier first game of the playoffs against Wingham 2 in Blyth.Taylor Watson scored the first goal of the game assited by Brooklyn Finlayson.  Finlayson later scored assisted by Kourtney Ribey.  In the second half the Wingham tied it up with 2 goals, forcing overtime.  With no score in a pair of 5 minute periods, the game proceded to a shoot out.Wingham netted 2 shots but St. Columban's: Kourtney Ribey, Courtney Feeney, and Kailey Hill each scored for the win!What an exciting start to the playoffs!  Stay tuned.

Monday July 1, 2013 The final regular season game for the U 18 girls was at home against Blyth The first goal was scored by St Columban's defense, Andrea Bokkers, who took a long shot and got it in just under the crossbar Blyth followed with 2 quick goals St. Columban's, Kortney Ribey tied it up Later, Blyth accidentally put one in their own net which counted for the home team In the second half, Blyth scored one Final score: 3-3
