U13 Boys - Celtic, U13, 2017 (St. Columban SC)

On Saturday, August 12th the team travelled to Clinton for the bronze medal match.  It was another exciting game for the fans to watch.  Jason Mills scored the first goal from a well executed unassisted corner kick.  In the second half Clinton had the lead by a goal, but Mills answered back with a solid mid-field kick to tie the game.  With the seconds counting down, Clinton scored again resulting in a 3-2 lose for the team.  A solid performance was put forth from the entire team.  A big thank you to the coaches and boys for an enjoyable season!     

On Tuesday, August 8th the team travelled to Goderich ready for a tough game and they certainly didn't disappoint the fans.  In one of the best played games, the boys came out strong and Cam Smith scored the first goal to tie up the game.  In the second half Goderich scored and it looked like they were going to get the win, but a beauty of a penalty shot with less than two minutes left, executed by Kody O'Rourke forced the game to go into overtime.  After ten minutes of play, the fate of the game was determined by a shoot out.  Goderich ended up winning the game with a final score of 3-2.  ...

On Tuesday, August 1st the team hosted Wingham on a perfect summer night.  The boys did everything right and easily won 8-3.  Kody O'Rourke scored an impressive four goals with Jason Mills, Matthew Maloney, Dylan Follett and Cam Smith each netting a single goal.  This win advanced the team to a third place finish within the division.  They are now ready to start the playoffs against Goderich on Tuesday, August 8th.  Go Celtics!

On Tuesday, July 25th the team travelled to Goderich and despite some stellar saves by goal keeper Kody Eisler, the boys fell short and lost the game 4-2.  The first goal for St. Columban came from a powerful kick executed by Kody O'Rourke that found the top corner of the net.  Cam Smith scored the second goal through a crowded crease.  Despite being down a couple of goals, the boys never gave up hope and played an excellent game.  

On Tuesday, July 18th, the team battled against the U13 St. Columban Shamrock team and won 3-2.  In an evenly matched game the boys played one of their best games with a solid performance from Daniel Reidy, Jacob Sills and Matthew Maloney.  Goals were recognized by Kody O'Rourke, Kody Eisler and Cam Smith scored the winning goal with 5 minutes left in the game.
