Goderich opened the scoring in the first half which may have discouraged the St. Columban team considering this is the first time they have found themselves in this positions, being behind in the scoring situation.
Finally Delayna Smith was able to weave around the Goderich defense and tipped one in. In the second half, Emma Flanagan assisted Delayna Smith to score a second goal for St.Columban to pull ahead. Hand balls called on each team in the box resulted in penalty shots but neither ended in a goal. The fans and Coach Frank Flanagan were on the on the edge of their seats as each team battled hard but in the end St.Columban came out on top winning the Gold Medal with a 2-1 win. Way to go girls!
