U9 Girls - Celtic, U9, 2016 (St. Columban SC)

The girls played Grand Bend in a very exciting game on Wednesday evening. Great passing and efforts from all the girls. The girls hard work paid off with a 5-0 victory. Goal tending for this game was shared by Alexa Burtenshaw and Heather Ogilvie. Goal scorers were Alexa Burtenshaw , Katrina Bolinger x2, and Ella Brodhagen x2. The girls played strong right until the last whistle. Great efforts girls. The improvement in these girls is remarkable. Well done.

The U9 Girls played a tough South Huron team Wednesday evening. The South Huron girls came out flying and St. Columban was down 2-0 early on in the first half. Nearing the end of the first half Alexa Burtenshaw placed a perfect shot past the South Huron goalie.

Despite a very hard effort, the U9 St. Columban Celtics fell to South Huron 1-0 Wednesday evening. The first half saw some great goal tending by Heather Ogilvie but a tough top corner shot managed to get past her leaving the girls down by 1 at half. St. Columban battled hard but were unable to even up the game in the second half. Davita Cronin made some incredible saves to keep them at one. St. Columban saw some great defending by Charlee Gethke, Rachel Haefling and Ella Brodhagen. Hard offense was displayed by Alexa Burtenshaw, Haileigh Templeman, Katrina Bolinger, and Avery McCarthy. ...

The St. Columban U9 Celtic girls traveled to Grand Bend on Wednesday evening. The girls came out strong earning most of the ball posession in the first half. The Outstanding goalie , Avery McCarthy, and with our goal scorer Charlee Gethke the girls found themselves on top by half. The girls continued their strong play and teamwork into the second half of the game with two more St. Columban goals coming from Katrina Bolinger and Ella Brodhagen. Alexa Burtenshaw played a very strong second half in net. Great game girls!

The St.Columban U9 girls battled hard on home field Wednesday evening to fall short 5-2 to a very strong Lucan team. The girls started hard and continued a strong effort right to the last whistle. Strong goal tending shared by Davita Cronin and Charlie Gethke. St. Columban goal scorers were Ella Brodhagen and Alexa Burtenshaw. A very strong effort for all the girls . Great team play and sportsmanship was displayed by all. Well done girls!
