In the semi-final, the girls faced long time rival, Clinton.
Jennifer Feeney
took on the goaltending duties and was instrumental in keeping the game close.
St. Columban scored in the first half, when Alysha Hills bounced a mid field
kick over the surprised goalie. Early in the second Clinton tied the game, but
shortly after Nicole Feeney battled hard, putting in her own rebound. With less
than 5 minutes remaining, Clinton took the lead.
St. Columban pressed hard, but
couldn't find the back of the net leaving the girls with a third place finish in
Western Counties Soccer League.
Clinton went on to play West Lorne in the
final.

After beating the Falcons, the U18 Girls advanced to the quarter finals which were held on Saturday, August 16th in Grand Bend. For various reasons, the team found themselves short players as they battled Cold Stream. Sam Feeney opened the scoring in the first half, with an unassisted goal. Cold Stream tied it up late in the game, but a determined Jennifer Feeney put in the game winner with help from Nicole Feeney and Brittany Batten. Despite feeling under the weather, Courtney Feeney played a stellar game in net and was a key player in the 2-1 victory.

At South Huron, the U18 Girls played their final league game against South Huron
Thursday, August 7th.
It was a see-saw battle as the teams are closely matched
and it was no surprise when the game ended in a tie.
St. Columban's only goal
was scored by Karissa Eckert who managed to bounce if off a South Huron defender
after a great offensive play by Jennifer Feeney.
