U11 Celtic Girls Vs South Huron #1
Thursday Aug 3 - The U11 Celtic girls matched up against third place South Huron #1, on South Huron's pitch.
On a cooler evening, with the season winding down, the girls knew they had to keep their energy level high, if they were to be the victors. With both teams starting slowly, it seemed that it could be anyone's game to win.
Lilly, wanting to break the stalemate, made a beautiful pass up to Ava R, who did what she does best, and put the ball in the net. Just before first half ended, Kate M was able to connect with Ava R, who notched her second of the match. The second half would be different, and the girls were pressed into defensive mode, as South Huron fought hard to gain a goal. Campbell made numerous saves for the Celtics to keep the lead. Once again, the Celtics managed a shut-out thanks to Courtney and Campbell, and strong defensive plays by Averi, Haylie, Lilly, and Emma.
Great offensive playing by Kate W, Ava V, Harmony, Abby, and Sammy.
Final score, Celtics win 2-0
