U13 Girls, U13, 2017 (St. Columban SC)

On August 3rd the U13 girls hosted Clinton 1 team.  They headed into this game in 2nd place in their division, a win would earn them home field advantage for the upcoming semi-final game.  The first half was intense with a back and forth game and no score. 

Lucknow travelled to St. Columban on July 25.  The girls came out to play after suffering a tough loss to Lucknow early in the season.  Sarah K. got the energy pumping when she sailed one in on a sweet direct kick.  Off to a good 1-0 start.  Now the momentum is going, Sarah K finds the net again off a great pass from Arianna C.  It’s 2-0 St. Columban at half-time.  Lucknow is eager but there was no stopping St. Columban now.  The girls keep the ball headed at Lucknow’s net with Hannah N., Sheana B. and Taylor R all finding the back of it in the second half.  

June 15 the girls travelled to Clinton, despite many attempts the first half ended scoreless.  After a sweet corner kick from Sarah K., Chelsea V was able to find the back of the net pulling St. Columban ahead 1-0.  This would be the final score for a tight played game.  Net minding duties were shared by Chelsea V. and Kate R.

It was a busy week for the U13 girls after a break last week.  The girls travelled to Lucknow on Monday.  Lucknow was quick to set the pace of the game scoring just minutes in.  The girls just couldn’t catch a break and ending up losing 4-0.  With a practice on Wednesday, they were back and ready to play Thursday night against Goderich.  St. Columban took the lead and stayed in front for the rest of the game with a 3-1 win.  Netminding duties were shared by Kate R. and Chelsey V.  Goals were scored by Sarah K, Arianna C and Kate R.
