On a beautiful summer Saturday in Goderich, the St. Columban U11 Celtic boys team claimed the North Huron Soccer League championship. The Celtics won the coin toss at the beginning of the game, and chose to play downwind during the second half, with hopes that the breeze wouldn't die down. The St. Columban U11 Celtic boys traveled to Goderich to play the undefeated Goderich team. They showed up early, eager, focused and well prepared. Both teams had lots of good runs toward the new and won numerous battles for the ball. Defense for the Celtic's proved to be
fast and
strong, keeping the game at 3-0 for the Celtic's at half time. Celtic's tireless effort and determination carried them to a 4-1 victory.

It was St.Columban vs St.Columban in U11 Boys soccer action Monday night. Shamrocks opened the scoring on a breakaway by Jackson Dietz. Jack Nolan did well to get a piece of it but the shot was well struck by Dietz who hit the lower left corner of the net. Celtic then answered back later in the half with a superb effort by James McCarthy. McCarthy took the ball down on his own side of center and had room to run. He sped with the ball down the left side and headed for the net. A hard shot beat keeper Jace Barnesky to tie it at 1-1.
