On 16 July 2018, Clinton squeezed victory 1-0 in St Columban. Girls played this hot muggy day with thunderstorms avoiding the Huron East area with only 2 spares. The first half ended with a 0-0 score, despite St Columban having numerous balls being shot wide of the Clinton net. Katie Roth made several good catches in the second half of the game playing net, but Clinton managed to pounce on a poor clearing attempt by the St Columban backs. St Columban did not let the goal keep them down as they pressed the offensive zone with Sarah Klaver and Taylor Rolleman bouncing a couple balls off the posts. Abby Rodgers sending a couple shots hard back in on attempts to clear. The team refused to give up until the final whistle was blown.
